How much does it cost to become a pilot? The answer depends upon several factors including the type of airplane you fly, the privileges you seek and the pace at which you build the knowledge and skills that are necessary to pass the FAA Practical Test (final exam).
Sport Pilot License: The Sport Pilot certificate allows individuals to fly certain makes and models of aircraft for recreational purposes, during daytime visual conditions only. This program requires a minimum of 20 hours of flight training.
Private Pilot License: The Private Pilot program requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight training,
Discovery Flight: The chance to experience flight in a small airplane before making the commitment to pursue a license
Transition Training: Making the adjustment to fly lighter airplanes.
Flight Review: A bi-annual check to make sure you are still safe to fly (your plane or mine)
Steam Gauges to Glass Panel: Learn to fly using an EFIS, EMS, and Garmin GPS
Rates: $120/hr wet for airplane rental. $50/Lesson* for flight instruction.
